Our 2023 Homeless for the Holidays annual collection drive has BEGUN!

 HELP IS NEEDED PLEASE!

The Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership of Frederick County (SHIP) has started their annual hygiene item collection drive for youth experiencing homelessness. The hygiene drive will end the second week of January.

Community members are encouraged to purchase and donate new full sized hygiene products by dropping them in the SHIP bin at my office located at 2480-D Osprey Way S, Frederick, MD 21701. I am also happy to come by your home or business to pick up items.
Not having access to hygiene items like shampoo and laundry detergent is often what keeps students experiencing homelessness from attending school. By providing these items to this vulnerable population, we increase their likelihood of furthering their education and graduating on time.
As of summer 2023, there were over 1,000 students experiencing homelessness in Frederick County Public Schools. Nearly 150 of those students were unaccompanied, meaning they had no parent or legal guardian present. SHIP of Frederick County works to reduce the barriers youth experiencing homelessness face in reaching their goals.
